Sedona Marathon- For the 9th year in a row, more than 2,500 runners will participate in Fun Run, 10K, Half or Full Marathon races which will take the runners through the scenic Coconino National Forest District, known for its magical red rock formations, and onto the streets of what Good Morning America has chosen as one of the Top 10 Most Beautiful Cities in the United States.

'The Sessions' Film Encore with Filmmaker - The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to partner with Northern Arizona University present the encore of "The Sessions" for one show only on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. The writer/director and co-producer of the film, Ben Lewin, will be in Sedona to host a Q&A discussion following the screening.

Oscar Shorts Program 2014 Premiere - The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premieres of The 2014 Oscar Shorts Programs Jan. 31 - Feb. 5 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. Now an annual film festival tradition, Sedona audiences will be able to see all of the short films nominated for Academy Awards before the Oscar telecast in early March. Both the Live Action Short Film nominees and the Animated Short Film nominees will be featured. (Short documentaries will be offered later in February.) The Oscar Live Action Shorts program will show: Friday, Jan. 31 and Monday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.; and Tuesday, Feb. 4 and Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $12, or $9 for Film Festival members. Community Meditation Gathering - Open meditations are offered every Sunday at the McLean Meditation Center, 411 State Route 179, in Sedona. . Anyone can have the experience of meditation whether they're new to meditation or already have an ongoing practice. 2:00 pm Sundays. During the 45 minute program, simple meditation guidance is given. Each week a different meditation is offered which can include a Loving Kindness Meditation, Mindfulness, Visualization, Breath Awareness, or Gratitude Meditation. World Peace Dance Performance and Concert from 7:00 am -7:00pm - The World Peace Dance performance inspires, enables, and teaches people to live peace on Earth through embodying daily expressions of love, forgiveness and compassion. Red Rock State ParkGeology HikeGuided Geology Hike - 1:00 pm. The park is located at the base of the Mogollon Rim, the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau. The escarpment is over 200 miles long and ranges in elevation from 2,000 to 3,000 feet. Over millions of years of erosion the rim has receded over four miles leaving behind the picturesque features of Sedona. Join our knowledgeable volunteers as they venture out on our trails and discuss how Sedona transformed into what we see today. This is an interpretive experience for both the beginner and experienced hiker, lasting between 2-2 ½ hours and an elevation gain of 250 feet. Please bring water and wear suitable footwear.

Living History - Early Verde Valley Medical Care at 10:00am - Living History: Join us for this next in our annual speaker series, this month with Dr. Paul Schnur. Dr. Schnur's father was Dr. Leo Schnur, Director of Medicine at the Grand in the 1940s-1950s. He moved to Sedona to become our first doctor. Paul went on to become a physician himself and has a long-time love and interest in the history of health care services in the Verde Valley, plus has personal stories to tell from his and his father's practice in mid-20th century Sedona.

Liberty Wildlife Railroad Education Presentations at 11:30am - Handlers, presenting a variety of raptors and native "critters", will answer questions and pose for photos during depot patio presentation. Sedona International Film Festival - This is an annual, eight-day film festival in Sedona, Arizona. The festival was founded in 1994.  The Sedona Film Festival screens feature films, documentary films, short films, animated films, and student films. In the festival workshops, organised by Academy Award-winner Frank Warner, award-winning industry professionals teach a new generation of filmmakers.

Love is in the Music Concert - The Verde Valley Sinfonietta ("Sinfonietta") celebrates their first concert of 2014 with their popular "Love is in the Music" concert to be performed on February 22nd and February 23rd. Both concerts take place at the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church on Dry Creek Road in Sedona located off of Highway 89A. General-admission tickets for the 7:00PM Saturday evening or 2:30PM Sunday afternoon concert are $20.00 at the door for adults and $15.00 if purchased in advance. Reserved seating is also available for $45.00. Students age 18 and under are free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Experiencing the Field - 6 p.m. at the McLean Meditation Center and Gifts. MARTY BIRRITTELLA, author of Field of Love: How to Experience the Field, conducts a weekly question and answer session about connecting to the field of love that is all around and within us. A lover of all forms of yoga, he practices a Self-Inquiry method he developed: the Free Process™. For those inclined to Self-Inquiry, the Free Process guides him or her to identify and then question the thoughts and beliefs which prevent them from realizing the field of love. The process then prompts them to ask the question, "Who am I without this thought?" He welcomes all from the heart with his practical and down-to-earth approach, and offers the Free Process as a way for anyone to experience their true nature.
